 #16  Glazed Nuts
1 1/2 cups whole blanched nuts (shelled)
(peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc.)
1/2 cup sugar
2 TBS margarine
salt (opt.)
Combine nuts, sugar, and margarine in a skillet.
Cook on mid-heat, stirring constantly, for 6-8
minutes until sugar is golden and nuts toasted.
(Be very careful not to burn this!) Spread on buttered
foiled-lined cookie sheet. If desired, sprinkle
lightly with salt. Cool. Separate into clusters.
Makes about 3/4 pound.
We know that all things work together for good to them that
love God, to them who are the called according to His
purpose.” Romans 8:28
Notice that that verse doesn’t say “all things ARE good”,
but that “all things WORK TOGETHER for good” a big
difference!
That, by the way, is the verse that hangs on the wall above
our computer desk. When we pause to think, and look upward,
we see those words. A comfort.
      A Christian friend was recently diagnosed with cancer;
two blood tests confirmed the dreaded disease in her
bloodstream. She was anointed and prayed for at church
according to James 5:14. Her friends prayed for her. A week
before her operation, the doctor ran a blood test in preparation
for surgery. It was negative for cancer. The doctors went
ahead and removed the tumor and tested it. No cancer. God
had healed her! Why did she and her husband have to go
through those weeks of upset, thinking she was terminally ill?
We don’t know. But God’s purpose was to heal her, and He
did, and we give Him praise for it! Her husband is not a born-
again Christian. Perhaps this experience will help him to see
God more clearly. That is our prayer.

This is, as usual, a simple and very good (I think so,
anyway) recipe. Very nice to make at Christmas time and use
for gift-giving. Most sugared/glazed nut recipes call for
toasting in the oven, but this is a stove-top one.  Enjoy!
