The first thing we must understand in knowing God is that He is a Spirit.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit
and in truth.
Not two Spirits, not three Spirits. He is a Spirit that fills the whole universe. He
does not have to go from place to place He is everywhere. He is invisible we can
never see Him.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is
in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
God must show Himself in some way, as a angel, as a cloud, in a voice or
some other way. The permanent image that God has chosen for Himself is
Jesus Christ. When we look on the face of Jesus we see God.
God comes to us in three ways.
1. As our heavenly father and creator of all things.
2. As the Holy Spirit ( Also called the Holy Ghost)
This is the invisible God working in and with men. This is the same one Spirit
that is God working in a certain way.
3. God makes His son called Jesus.
He is fully a man. Made of Mary, God the Spirit lived in this body that was
under God’s complete control.
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what
things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the
words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth
in me, he doeth the works.
God declared that there must be a price paid for all sin. That price is death both
natural death and Spiritual (eternal) death. God had a plan that would save men
from eternal death. He would make a son to pay the price of death for all. Jesus
blood is what cleanses from all sin. If we are washed in His blood and stay
under the protection of His blood we will be free of the price of eternal death.
How do we get under the blood, by obeying Acts 2:38.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive
the gift of the Holy Ghost.
How do we stay under the blood, by faith in his blood and obedience to his
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his
blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;
2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the
knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled
therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
God only wants the very best for all of us. God’s way is the very best, so why
not follow it? It is easy to find out if it works, just try it and see.
